Located in the heart of downtown Allyn, Washington on the Olympic Peninsula between Bremerton and Shelton, the George Kenny School of Chainsaw Carving is an ever-changing showcase for this unique art form, born and perfected in the great Pacific Northwest and now practiced by artisans throughout the world – why not you?
Smiling cedar bears of all shapes and sizes greet you upon arrival at our Allyn gallery and school. Amid the aromatic piles of cedar chunks and sawdust, one or more carvers is often sculpting away with chainsaw whirrrring and new art gradually emerging.
The rustic culture of chainsaw carving can spark your imagination and unleash your inner creativity, too – if you can dream it, George can teach you to carve it – or we can carve it for you!
Come watch our professional and student chainsaw carvers in action. Each year we host several carving competitions right here in Allyn, with nationally-ranked competitors vying for prizes – call for dates. A special carving show and auction is held in conjunction with the annual Allyn Days Festival in July.

How do I get enrolled in a class & how $$$ ? When are they held ?
Classes are available all year long. They are held over three days, generally Fri/Sat/Sun.
We are near Seattle and we help you arrange accommodations (so think vacation and seeing the Pacific Northwest).
We offer the classes about every two weeks (have been doing classes for over 8 years!). Investment is just $1500 (includes a new saw that you take home with you!). Also, all the items made in the class are yours to keep and to use as reference or as gifts. Just call or e-mail your class date preferences. A deposit holds that date. Balance is due at class.
Thanks again, George.
